How To Choose The Correct Wood Flooring For Your Room
It can be difficult to decide which wood flooring to get as there are a variety of designs from multiple providers. Therefore it is best to educate yourself on the different characteristics of wood and which will work well for your needs.
What Wood Flooring Is Best For You?
At Nagle Flooring you can choose from the three main types of popular wood flooring. They are solid, engineered and laminate.
Solid wood flooring offers a warm, authentic and beautiful colour and texture. Furthermore, as it ages it simply adds more character to your interior design. Engineered wood is very similar to solid wood except it is made up of tightly compressed layers of hardwood.
They offer a timeless look and are easy to maintain due to any lacquered or oiled finish applied on the flooring.
Lacquered finishes sit on top of the wood and provide a nice glossy or matt appearance, depending on your personal taste. With a little bit of sweeping and a quick wipe with floor cleaner, your wood flooring can look good as new. However over time it can experience some wear and tear which will result in you needing to sand and re-finish the whole floor if you wish to renew its appearance.
Oiled finishes on the other hand soak into the wood adding some protection and moisture resistance. There is also the option of having coloured oils which will bring more unique style to your wood flooring choice. Oiled floors require more maintenance with periodic oiling; however this can allow you to easily eradicate any scratches or marks on the wood instantly.
Laminate wood flooring is completely manufactured with composite pressed wood. The image of hardwood is then produced on top to give it the wood flooring appearance. This flooring is therefore best suited for those on a budget.
